Campfire wood does not cost a packet

One of our pet peeves in camp is the high price of so-called "Camp Wood." You know, those wooden beams are tied with several ropes. We also bought the wood wrapped in plastic netting. Sometimes the network-up seemed to have more volume of firewood!

Generally, this wood is the sale of $ 5 to $ 6 per pack. A beam is not really enough to power a decent fire for the night, then you need to buy two or three beams. More than a fewnights, you can easily spend close to $ 40 on firewood!

Smart campers bring their timber if they have space. But those of us who are close to us need to thank you for firewood dealers. One cord, broken and sold to hundreds of campers could net more dollars if sold as a single cord of firewood.

This is the price of convenience. If you want a better deal, keep an eye on sales of road "Camp Wood" on the roads leading to popularcampsites. You can usually pay a dollar or two less for a more generous package.

Another alternative for a better price we met would be the end of the artificial logs. Duraflame logs are a familiar brand. They start easily (just put a game in "clicker" on the edge of the paper) in the wind and rain. The marks actually look and smell fine, but the least expensive artificial log may have an odor that is best described as like burning tires. Good newspapers have alsopyrotechnic integrated as the flickering flames in shades of blue and green, almost like a wood fire (in the case of wood, the spectacle of brilliant colors is caused by salt and minerals absorbed from the wood).

We know that one of the best parts of camping is gathering around the fire. With a little 'planning and some bargain hunting, the price of wood should not leave the camper sensation of burning.
